《拉菲達：916舉辦人民團結大集會毫無意義》

前任貿工部長拉菲達阿茲批評，紅衫軍為了回應凈選盟黃衫軍在國慶前夕的示威，將於9月16日在武吉免登號召一場人民團結大集會的作法是沒有意義的。

她認為凈選盟4.0集會已有明確的訴求，所以民眾沒有必要為了聲討凈選盟集會而再度走上街頭示威。

『他們想要表達什麼訴求？他們想要證明些什麼？』拉菲達透過面子書拋出疑問。

她也懷疑集會者是否了解舉辦這場集會的目的，『集會者到底懂不懂集會的目的？他們到底知道發生什麼事嗎？』。

曾擔任過巫統婦女組主席的拉菲達也認為，那些透過凈選盟4.0集會挑起種族情緒的人是為了逃避現實，而抄捷徑大打種族牌。

她認為國家正在面對管制、透明和廉政的課題，而非種族議題。

一個組織將號召巫統及伊黨黨員在9月16日中午12時至午夜12時穿紅衣上街遊行的集會，以武吉免登為集會地點，聲討凈選盟4集會發生出席者踩踏首相拿督斯里納吉和伊黨主席拿督斯里哈迪阿旺肖像事件。

Former minister Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz today hit out at leaders who "play the race card" in order to avoid addressing issues raised by concerned Malaysians.

In her latest Facebook post today, Rafidah said the the "mess" facing Malaysia had nothing to do with race, but governance, transparency, and integrity.

"These are truly uneasy times. Some people seem to avoid the REAL issues and prefer to choose the easiest way out... Play the racial card... Point fingers and play the blame game... Play the numbers game to give the impression of 'strength' of support.

"In the process, the issues that the Rakyat are worried about, and want to see expeditious resolution to, are being simply marginalized... AND SKIRTED AROUND," she wrote today.

She said Malaysians were worried about issues related to the running of the country, economic governance, and the trustworthiness of those in power.

"I would like to remind that the ISSUES we are being confronted with have NOTHING to do with Race of groups or whatever," she said highlighting some words in the post in capital letters to emphasize her points.

Rafidah also criticised the proposed red-shirt September 16 rally, saying it served no purpose and gave mixed messages.

Posters of the "Himpunan Maruah Melayu" (Malay Dignity Gathering) rally circulating on social media urge Malays to unite in solidarity to protest against groups and issues ranging from Bersih 2.0 to DAP.

"Just WHAT are they trying to prove? Are they implying that it is all OK that we are facing the mess... that they SUPPORT the actions that have led to the National Embarrassment?

"That they condone what the leaders have done?" asked Rafidah.

She said September 16, which is Malaysia Day, should see Malaysians united in diversity, adding that the planned rally "goes totally counter to that".

She warned that it could create more chasms and divisiveness, and suggested that the Malays organise prayer sessions to save the country.

Umno minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he would send Umno members to join the rally in his capacity as the Bera Umno division chief, The Star Online reported yesterday.

Ismail Sabri has gained notoriety in recent months over his calls for Malays to boycott Chinese traders and his proposal for a Malays-only "Low Yat 2" electronics mall. – September 6, 2015.
