JOHOR BARU: The FootballAssociation of Malaysia (FAM) arein a major financial crisis,said newly-elected presidentTunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
Tunku Ismail or popularlyknown as TMJ (Tunku Mahkota ofJohor) said FAM's financial situation could hamper hisefforts to carry out developmentprogrammes or changesaspired by the fans and thepeople.
「On the first day I hadentered the FAM in my officialcapacity as president, oozingwith confidence and ideas,ready to rock and roll. So, Istarted checking everything, Igot all the files, I got everybody coming up to me...FAM hasno money.
「You know how much shortage?RM40 million shortage ofmoney. There's no money in FAM. Howam I going to run theleague? How am I going to look after thenational team, howto change a new coach, buy equipment?
「Of course no one has theanswer. It's okay, I don't wantto worry about it. I want tomove forward,」 he told about 40media practitioners comprisingchief editors and sportseditors at Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim, here today.
Tunku Ismail said due tolack of funds, he had to takeproactive measures, including terminating the services of 20staff, although he had nointention to 'throw sand intopeople's rice bowl' as claimedby some on social media.
「Everyone, including thefans need to know what we can doand what we cannot do. Wehave to be realistic. So, torestructure the organisation, we need not pay staff who arenot productive because we don't want towaste FAM'smoney.
「My main focus is to protectthe money and assets thatbelong to FAM, therefore 20 staffhave been terminated. Mediahas to understand and highlight the positive things.
「I am not throwing sand intopeople's rice bowl. That'sgot nothing to do with myintention. I think the firstpriority should be given to the association,」 he said.
He said FAM was in the process ofdiscussing with prospectivesponsors like Zenith and FoxSport.
「I am working hard to findsponsors for the mid-seasonactivities this year, next year andyears to come,」 he said.
Meanwhile, TMJ also chided statefootball associations and clubsthat spent exorbitant amounts onimport players.
「I have given ideas torestructure their financial status.We will see during thesecond window for registration ofplayers. I want to rescue them from unrecognised playeragents,」 he said. -

柔州王儲殿下4月1日正式走馬上任為新屆大馬足總會長；他在3天後就召開了媒體高層聚餐會，各報總編輯及電台電視台主要負責人齊聚大馬足總大廈與王儲會長交流。王儲本著直話直說的性格，對40餘為媒體高層揭發足總重重黑幕，震驚朝野！
王儲殿下說：我原本滿懷信心及理想，計劃著要推行各種改革措施振興大馬足球運動，讓大馬足運重新回到高峰。我上任第一天就調閱了所有檔案，包括詳細了解財務狀況；不料卻發現了令我異常震怒的真相：原來大馬足總不但每年龐大的贊助費收入都被揮霍光光，現在竟然還負債4千萬！
這位新任大馬足總會長說：大馬足總每年都獲得數以億計的贊助款項，包括青年體育部每年巨大數額的撥款，還有所有球賽的分紅收入也非常可觀。《我認為如果善用這些款項，大馬足總不但可以很好的發展足球運動，每年也應該取得很可觀的盈餘；但是現在呈現在我面前的驚人是一盤赤字；簡直難以置信！》
柔州王儲接任會長之前，大馬足總會長長期由彭亨州蘇丹及王儲擔任，已經掌權超過30年。事實上，30多年前當彭亨州蘇丹接掌大馬足總會長之前，原任的會長丹斯里韓沙阿都沙末治理得井井有條。
大馬足球運動最輝煌的70年代及80年代，足球名將輩出，蘇進安、山督星、阿魯姆甘、莫達達哈利、哈山山尼、黃春華、仇志強、再那阿比丁等等，兩度帶領大馬足球隊殺入奧運決賽圈；年年舉辦的默迪卡杯國際足球大賽吸引亞洲強旅韓國、日本、印度、伊朗、伊拉克、印尼、泰國參賽；馬來西亞足球隊被公認為亞洲足運強國。這些都是在韓沙主政大馬足總時期發生的事。
無可否認的事實是，自從彭亨蘇丹接掌大馬足總會長之後，大馬足運水準便江河日下，再也無法重現昔日輝煌。
此後30多年，大馬足總百病叢生，由上到下貪污腐敗問題嚴重，總會長身邊幾個寵臣長期霸佔足總重要位置，貪污濫權、任人唯親；庸才佔據高層位置，真正的人才被排擠；各州足總也被貪污濫權的《傳染病》嚴重感染，大馬整體的足球運動不斷向下沉淪，直到今天，在全球196個世界排名中，只能名列第167名。
柔州王儲是一位有理想有抱負的強人，他帶著振興大馬足球運動的使命出任大馬足總會長，雖然發現足總已病入膏肓，但是他仍然有信心治好足總的重病，他需要的只是時間。
他與現任大馬足總領導層召開理事會議，逐步推行大刀闊斧的改革計劃；首相就是將那些霸住茅坑不拉屎的廢物砍掉。於是我們看到他一口氣砍掉了20個貪腐的無能職員，務求先讓足總止血。
王儲殿下說，他現在正在積極尋找全新的贊助單位，為未來重新奠基。今後他只會任命有能力有才幹的人擔任足總高職。那些妄想混飯吃的無能之輩，不會再有容身之地。
