（新山26日訊）巫統新山市政局前黨員拿督雅耶停放在車房的一輛轎車相信遭人刻意拋擲汽油彈，導致整輛車子陷入火海。

這起縱火燒車的事件於今天中午12時左右，發生在淡杯烏達新鎮巴迪胡馬1路，消拯局迅速趕抵現場滅火，避免了火勢蔓延。

據瞭解，有一名目擊者看到兩名共乘摩多的男子逃離現場後，住家車房的一輛車子即燃起熊熊烈火。

事件發生時，屋內共有4人，即雅耶的妻子、2名孩子及一名傭人，雅耶本身則身在國外。

新山北區警區主任泰益指出，事主的屋子是一棟洋樓，左右兩邊的屋子則空置著。

「事主於上午11時45分聽到屋外傳來微小的爆炸聲以及發覺濃煙後，驚覺車子被燒。」

他指出，遭火劫的轎車是從車頭開始燒起，幾乎整輛車全毀。

他說，警方已援引刑事法典386勒索條文調查這起案件。

新山拉慶消拯局指揮官凱魯受詢時則指出，火勢十分猛烈，他們花了將近40分鐘時間才控制大火，不過轎車已經90%被焚毀。

「大火也波及了屋身的窗口和遮陽棚，不過情況不嚴重。」

他說，當時屋主的車房還有另外5輛車子，不過屋主及時將其他車子移出，並未受波及。

他指出，因為有目擊者看見幹案者離開現場，來自警方的科學鑑證組人員以及消拯局的鑑證人員皆有到場調查。

JOHOR BAHRU: A BMW 525i car belonging to Johor Bahru UMNO Division vice-chief Yahya Jaafar was destroyed yesterday in a suspected arson attack.

North Johor Bahru police chief ACP Mohd Taib Ahmad said in the 11.45 am incident, the car was parked at Yahya’s house compound in Bandar Baru Uda here.

Yahya, who is also a member of Johor Bahru City Council, was not at home at the time.

「During the incident, there were four people in the house (including Yahya’s wife) and they went out to check when they smelled smoke and heard a small explosion.

「They found that the BMW was burning, but managed to save two other cars, a Chrysler and Audi Q5, which were parked nearby,」 he said in a statement.

Mohd Taib said firemen and the police’s forensic unit were sent to the scene but no objects or explosive devices were found.

「At this stage, the investigation is being conducted under Section 386 of the Penal Code,」 he said.
