SUBANG JAYA, May 19 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today alleged the Malay rulers are being prevented from granting him audiences to deliver his so-called 「Citizens Declaration」 seeking the prime minister’s resignation.

In a forum here, the former prime minister claimed this was why he has been unsuccessful in meeting the Yang diPertuan Agong to deliver the memorandum bearing over a million signatures.

「I have been trying to see them to show the Declaration by the people, but so far, I can』t get an appointment which means the Rulers are confined to their palaces,」 he said.

He did not provide any evidence to support his allegation save his inability to obtain an audience with any Malay ruler.

Dr Mahathir last week said the movement has collected 1.27 million signatures in support of its demand for Datuk Seri Najib Razak to step down as prime minister.

The former prime minister said then he will seek an audience with the Agong in order to deliver the memorandum.
