1. 跨年怎麼說？

「跨年」這個詞在英文裡面沒有直接相對應的詞，會用 celebrate New Year’s Eve 來表達，不會說 cross the year 喔！

2. 你要去哪裡跨年？

接下來就從最基本的「你要去哪裡跨年？」開始吧！

A: Hey, where are you going to celebrate New Year’s Eve?

A：嘿，你要去哪裡跨年呢？

B: Well, I haven』t decided yet. I stayed home last year, but I want to do something different this year.

B：嗯，我還沒有決定。我去年待在家裡，但是今年我想做點不一樣的事。

跨年只待在家太無聊嗎？下面是你可以做的事情：

attend New Years』 Eve celebrations (v.) 參加跨年活動

watch the fireworks (v.) 看煙火

go to a concert (v.) 聽演唱會

listen to live music (v.) 聽現場音樂

dance the night away (v.) 跳舞跳通霄

go to a party (v.) 參加派對

travel abroad (v.) 到國外旅行

have a gourmet buffet dinner (v.) 吃一頓精緻自助餐晚餐

3. 要不要一起跨年？

邀請朋友的時候可以運用 why not 的句型：

A: Since you haven』t decided, why not go out with me?

A：既然你還沒有決定，要不要和我一起出去跨年呢？

B: That sounds great! I wasn』t sure who to hang out with on that day.

B：聽起來很棒！我之前還沒找到要一起出去的人！

邀請人的時候也可以這樣說：

A: Hey, it’s New Year’s Eve. Do you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve together?

A：嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年嗎？

B: Sure, let’s not stay home like a couch potato this year.

B：當然，我們今年就別窩在家裡當懶惰蟲了吧！

提出建議的時候也可以活用 How about 的句型：

A: What do you want to do to celebrate New Year’s Eve?

A：你跨年夜想做什麼呢？

B: How about having a gourmet dinner, and then watching the fireworks near Taipei 101?

B：你覺得先吃一頓精緻的晚餐，然後再去 101 附近看煙火，這樣如何？

4. 婉拒

但如果已經有其它規劃，需要婉拒時，除了 sorry 以外，還可以這樣說：

A: Hey, it’s New Years Eve. Do you want to celebrate it together?

A：嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年嗎？

B: Too bad, I have been too tired lately. I would rather stay home and be a couch potato this year.

B：太可惜了，我最近有點太累。我今年寧可在家裡當懶惰蟲就好了。

A: What a shame!

A：太可惜了！
