美國爆紅繪本【有一天】
美國繪本故事《有一天》說出許多父母的心聲，故事從一位母親喃喃自語做為開頭，敘述著孩子的成長過程以及會遇上的種種事情，直到有一天孩子會離開家開創自己的人生，成為其他人的父母，然後當老去時回想起自己的父母。
一天深夜的時候，「Alison McGhee」站在房間的門口看著熟睡中的女兒，心裡感覺不知道被什麼東西溫柔的碰觸了一下，於是走到廚房的餐桌，便開始寫下《有一天》的初稿：「那一天，我數著妳的手指，輕輕的把他們都吻了一遍；那一天，第一次的雪花飄下，我把妳高高的舉了起來…」
「One day I counted your fingers and each one.」
曾經，我親吻遍妳每根小小的手指。
「One day the first snowflakes fell,and I held you up and watched them melt on your baby skin.」
曾經，妳第一次遇上雪花飄落的那天，我將妳高高的舉起，看著它們在妳稚嫩的皮膚上融化。
「One day,we crossed the street,and you held my hand tight.」
曾經，妳的小手緊緊抓住我，一起走過城市的車水馬龍。
「Then,you were my baby」
妳一直是我的小寶貝。
「and now you are my child.」
而現在妳是我的大寶貝。
「Sometimes,When you sleep, I watch your dream,and I dream too……」
有時候，看著熟睡中的妳，看著妳作夢時，我也會自己跟著幻想…
「That someday you will dive into the cool,clear water of a lake.」
有一天，妳會潛入冰冷且清澈的湖內。
「Someday you will walk into a deep wood.」
有一天，妳會獨自一人的走進一片蒼鬱的森林。
「Someday your eyes will be filled with a joy so deep that they shine.」
有一天，妳會看到很多新奇的事物，眼裡充滿著好奇跟喜悅。
「Someday you will run so fast and so far your heart will feel like fire.」
有一天，妳會開始快速的奔跑，內心就像火焰般的熊熊燃燒。
「Someday you will swing high so high, higher than you ever dared to swing.」
有一天，妳會發現盪的比妳預計的還要高很多。
「Someday you will hear something so sad that you will fold up with sorrow.」
有一天，妳會因為壞消息而難過，整個人都被憂傷包圍。
「Someday you will call a song to the wind,and the wind will carry your song away.」
有一天，妳會在風中唱歌，並且希望風能把妳的歌聲帶到很遠的地方。
「Someday I will stand on this porch and watch your arms waving to me until I no longer see you.」
有一天，我會站在門廊揮手跟妳說再見，直到妳消失在我眼前。
「Someday you will look at this house and wonder how something that feels so big can look so small.」
有一天，妳看著著我們家，覺得擁有很多的回憶，此時此刻看起來卻如此的渺小。
「Someday you will feel a small weight against your strong back.」
有一天，妳也能體會到堅強的肩膀上有著小小負擔。
「Someday I will watch you pushing your child’s hair.」
有一天，我會看到妳坐在床邊，幫自己的孩子梳理著她的頭髮。
「Someday,a long time from now,your own hair will glow silver in the sun.」
有一天，在遙遠的那一天，妳頭髮也會在陽光下閃著銀白光。
「And when that day comes,love,you will remember me.」
等到那天到來的時候，親愛的，妳將會想起我。
