不少陰謀論者一直認為，義大利文藝復興大師達芬奇作品內藏不少密碼，最近更拍片言之鐅鐅指出，他的名作《蒙娜麗莎》隱藏了外星生命的秘密，是「外星生物的實證」。

專門研究超自然現象的網站「The Paranormal Crucible」發布片段，稱若將《蒙娜麗莎》加上鏡像合併看，可見內藏一個影像，十足十外星人。放大陰影看，那名「外星人」似乎有大眼、長鼻和小口，更頭戴帽子、肩有披風，像一名主教或祭司的模樣。

他們認為，畫作或肩負暗藏當年有關外星人存在史證的任務，而羅馬教廷也可能參與其中。不過，網站並無就有關說法提供詳盡解釋，更承認片段曾加強色彩效果，令外星人影像更清晰。
