
A 22-year-old Malaysian man has been arrested for trying to smuggle about two kilogrammes of cannabis into Singapore.

SINGAPORE: A 22-year-old Malaysian man was arrested early Saturday (May 16) at the Woodlands Checkpoint for trying to smuggle in about two kilogrammes of cannabis.
Immigration officers uncovered two blocks of cannabis strapped to the front and back of his body during a routine check.
The cannabis was estimated to be worth more than S$66,000, the authorities said.
Investigation is ongoing.
Under the Misuse Drugs Act, those convicted of importing more than 500 grammes of cannabis may face the death penalty.
