內政部發言人回復媒體詢問表示，我們將依照威脅環境，調整保安措施。不過內政部並沒有提到，是否提升警戒級別。

內政部兼律政部長尚穆根之前在4月表示，我國面臨的恐襲威脅已達近期最高水平。

SINGAPORE: Security agencies have stepped up checks and patrols at air, land and sea checkpoints, as well as at key transport nodes following the deadly Istanbul attack, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Wednesday (Jun 29).

In response to media queries, a MHA spokesperson said: "We will calibrate security measures according to the threat environment."

MHA did not mention if alert levels were raised.

The attack on Tuesday night at Ataturk International Airport saw at least 41 people killed and hundreds more wounded.

Singapore's leaders have urged the public to continue staying vigilant. In a Facebook post on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the attack "is a grim reminder of the reality of the global menace of terrorism".

"Singapore must remain on guard, knowing that it is not a matter of if, but when, such an attack lands on our shores," Mr Lee wrote.

National Development Minister Lawrence Wong noted in a Facebook update that such an attack could happen "anywhere in the world, including in Singapore".

"We cannot be complacent and must continue to stay alert and vigilant at all times," he stated.
