德國媒體撰文六頁介紹台灣

駐德國代表處近日發布新聞稿，Erhards Erben 季刊 2 月號國際政治版以 6 全頁篇幅刊載「台灣專輯」，刊出季刊總編輯道格拉斯（Holger Douglas）、德國國會議員兼友台小組主席魏爾胥（Klaus-Peter Willsch）及駐德國代表謝志偉等 3 篇專文， 報導內容正面並搭配 101 大樓全景照片，有助提昇台灣國際形象。
季刊總編輯道格拉斯撰文盛讚台灣是亞洲四小龍之一，也是亞洲最現代、最具活力民主國家之一，並指出 沒有台灣就沒有 iPhone、沒有台灣就沒有現代 LCD 電腦螢幕、沒有台灣就沒有筆記型電腦。
德國國會議員支持台灣參與國際組織
魏爾胥並為台灣發聲表示，德台國會友好小組有 52 位國會成員，是德國國會最大友好小組之一，德國囿於「一個中國政策」無法與台灣建立外交關係，但 台灣是亞太地區民主燈塔，在尋求國際參與攸關全球利益上，卻屢為政治理由抵制。
魏爾胥以台灣尋求加入「國際民航組織」為例指出，台灣為亞洲航空重要樞紐，基於飛安理由，理應獲得各種飛安資訊及文件，2013 年台灣首次在北京同意情況下獲邀與會，2016 年則因北京阻撓而未受邀，理由為北京反對台灣人民所直選出首位女總統蔡英文，此事至為荒謬。
針對美國總統川普與總統蔡英文通電話一事，魏爾胥則表全力支持，認為夥伴國家元首間意見交換實屬自然，因此， 魏爾胥將全力支持協助台灣參與國際組織 。
台灣與德國是重要貿易夥伴
謝志偉則在專文中表示，台灣去年總統及國會選舉結果顯示，民主與法制已深植台灣社會，新當選民主進步黨執政三重點為就業、創新及分配。蔡總統提出智慧機械、國防產業、生技醫藥研發、亞洲矽谷、綠能科技等五大創新產業政策，旨在打造台灣成為區域創新中心，有利德商及歐商在亞洲的投資及布局。
駐德國代表處指出，台灣是德國在亞太地區第 5 大貿易夥伴，德國則是台灣在歐洲第一大及全球第 9 大貿易夥伴，2015 年雙邊貿易額達 155 億歐元。 台灣目前正積極尋求與歐盟洽簽類雙邊投資協議或經濟合作協議（BIA/ECA），盼能與德國攜手共創佳境。
儘管台德間無正式邦交，近年來雙邊關係在諸多領域均見持續深化，未來希望在既有基礎上強化台德關係。
