這宗氣聞是本月17日凌晨發生在南北大道太平北部出口收費站附近。當時一名53歲的司機駕駛一輛救傷車，載著一名從巴里文打醫院轉去太平醫院的病患，當時車上還有一名隨行女護士。
根據司機轉述，當他凌晨1.40AM左右轉出太平收費站後，前方交通燈處圍繞著好多輛機車，一看就知道是馬來飆車黨。由於他必須爭取時間將病患盡快送往太平醫院辦理交割手續；而這些飆車黨卻擋住救傷車去路；他只得開動緊急訊號燈及鳴響喇叭；沒想到這樣就觸怒了飆車黨。
他說，幾個馬來年輕人下車衝過來，打開救傷車門把他拉下車，不由分說就揮動拳頭對他動武，結果他的眼角及臉頰被打傷流血，大叫救命。女護士急忙下車企圖助他解圍，結果連她也被推倒在地上，手臂擦傷。
行兇後，冷血的馬來飆車黨成員呼嘯而去，受傷的司機及女護士先將病患載到太平醫院後，前往警察局報案。警察告訴他們，事發地點正是飆車黨最喜歡非法賽車的地方，警方知道飆車黨是哪些人，但是對付不來。
Ambulance driver attacked by Mat Rempit racers
PETALING JAYA: An ambulance driver ferrying a patient received four stiches on his face after a group of Mat Rempit youths on motorcycles allegedly set on him and his colleague when he told them to give way to his vehicle.
In the incident at 1.40am today, the 53-year old man sustained wounds around his right eye and a female nurse with him in the ambulance was knocked over near the North-South Highway』s (PLUS) north Taiping toll plaza.
Berita Harian reported that the victim, who declined to be identified, was driving the patient from the Parit Buntar Hospital to the Taiping Hospital when he saw the youngsters, who appeared to be racing, at the traffic light junction near the toll plaza.
「Because what they were doing was dangerous, I used the hailer to advise them to give way to us,」 he said.
「However, my action made them angry and they rammed into the ambulance and one of them fell off.」
He said the group then blocked the ambulance』s path with their motorcycles and four to six of them opened the ambulance door and pulled him out before beginning to hit him.
The nurse who was caring for the patient at the back of the ambulance immediately got out to help him but she was knocked down by the youths who then escaped.
The driver lodged a police report in Taiping after having sent the patient safely to the hospital and later received treatment for his wounds when he returned to Parit Buntar.
He said he had noted down the licence plate number of one of the motorcycles used during the incident and the police had identified its owner.
He said the area where the attack took place was often used for illegal racing by youths on motorcycles and cars, especially during weekends.
